There's nothing worse than waking a sleeping baby by totally jumbling them around while you try to click the seat into the base. This one slides right in and clicks quietly.2. The ease of the belt clips. We tried out each 5 point harness clip in the giant baby store. Many of them were awkward, hard to reach or pinched our fingers. The clips on this safety harness were easy to reach and smooth and painless. At first I was hesitant to spend the extra money for these features. But, my wise husband reminded me these would be functions I used multiple times a day, likely every day. PHEW, he was right! I'm so glad we spent some extra money making sure our baby was safe and comfortable and with a seat that is easy to use. Baby loves it, he is clearly comfortable and happy in the seat. The only downside for me is the size. IT's larger than some infant carrier style seats out there. I am a petite woman and find it awkward to carry. My baby is now 16 pounds, 5 months old and it's quite a load for me to carry around or hoist up into the SUV. I solve this issue by mostly using the car seat base on my stroller and not trying to carry it much further than to and from the car.

When I disassembled it to clean I was shocked that it was only made of plastic. I just assumed it has some steel bars somewhere. It did have the highest infant car seat rating when I bought it so I was trusting in that. However, I had problems with the straps being short. My car seat had a defect that I didn't discover until months after purchasing. My daughter is in the 1% so it took a long time for me to need to extend the straps. When I went up to the middle setting the straps became to short making it hard to get her in and out. Chicco WOULD NOT replace my straps and basically said it was a USER ERROR. I'm not an idiot. I even took it back to the store and they swapped out the straps from their store model with mine. THANK YOU BABIES R' US!

It has a zipper in the back that exposes a mesh thing that allows you to pull the visor forward and give baby some air flow and more shade at the same time (genius for sunny days). The foot muff is also better because it crosses over, so it's easier to pull the baby in and out. Also, baby doesn't wear pants! And stays warm! The infant seat is pretty roomy (from side to side), but it has a pretty narrow base (it uses the same base as the keyfit 22). The tech got a pretty tight installation using the center lap belt in our 2012 Subaru Outback. Sweet.Snaps into our UppaBaby Cruz with the adapter easy peasy.Cons:The infant insert and head cradle is not as well designed as in the current model (2013) model, but you will only use these for a few months until the baby is 12lbs compared to the seat (up to 2 years).Baby gets hot and sweaty in the back on hot days (common problem for many car seats). Also, with the infant insert, the baby's butt gets really red and sticky with poopy or wet diapers.
