15 of 17 people found the following review helpful.I have a trailer for my toddler for my bike but wanted a seat as well. I just started looking at seats when I had the chance to try, test and review this product. This is my first Child Bike Seat I ever tried. First, I was concerned it would not fit on my bike. We have 2 here and one it would not work with. The other just barely made it. I recommend you check first for compatibility but I'm sure this is a similar issue with other bike seats. Instructions were easy to follow and setup/install was a breeze. I did it myself. I was skeptical on how the seat gets attached but I realize all bike seats get attached the same way. I like how it can be removed with ease and put back in in a matter of seconds. My daughter is 20m and was the test subject for this. The seat seemed very comfortable for her, her first time in a seat a such. It has a slight recline and adjusts in height for the shoulder straps to buckle her in. This was not an issue for her, and it even went over her bike helmet so I didn't need to take her helmet off just to get the straps on. Next was the feet straps. They adjust in height as well to accommodate how long there legs are - again nice feature and easy to use. The straps go over her sneakers to keep her feet from kicking mommy. I wasn't sure how she would like it and expected a screaming kid and movement from her making me hesitant about peddling but she did not care at all, in fact I think it felt comfortable for her. Next time I put her in she leaned down to remind me to put the straps on her feet!I wasn't sure what to expect from the added weight on the back or how it would throw off the balance and such. I slowly started up and down my street for trials. My daughter just sat there loving it. I had no issues besides feeling the extra weight going up a hill, which is a given. She moved here and there really just turning her head or touching my back- none affected the bikes balance. I did go over terrain and bumpy areas and everything was still great, balance and comfort wise. She did not want to come out when we were finished, she really enjoyed it. Note that the seat is for children from 9 months old and up and weighing up to 40 pounds. Another note is the fabric on the seat comes off easily to wash (machine washable) which is great! Given my first experience with a child bike seat I was glad to try this Britax one. I would 100% recommend it, safety, features, comfort and installation. Just make sure it will work with your bike, don't just assume. They give accurate measurements so best to just take the time out and measure.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful....that's what sets this seat apart. There are of course some other nice features, but that is the main one. The SUPER nice thing about it is that you only need to buy another bracket to switch this to a different bike. Too bad those brackets are so expensive, at forty bucks ea. at the time of this review. For instance, it reclines, and the side head pad area is height-adjustable. This also seems to be the only seat that can be used with kids down to 9 mos. old. (9-12 mos. they recommend checking with your pediatrician; the child has to be able to hold his/her head up easily)Installation was not hard, took me about 40 minutes, taking careful time to do each step. Following the instructions is a must, or you will be frustrated. For example, when I was test-fitting the seat rails into the quick-release bracket, I had a heck of a time getting it to lock in place. But once I tightened the bracket mounts fully, it was just perfect. This was in the instructions, a bit later in the process. The seat can also be slid back and forth along the rails, to balance it properly. You see the weight of the child makes the rails flex a bit, which also acts as a suspension system for the seat. It works great. On the first ride with my daughter, she screamed for 5 minutes; just something new she didn't like. Then, she relaxed a little and enjoyed the show. But the end of the ride, I felt her head slump forward against my butt; she was out like a light, gently rocked and bounced to sleep on that springy seat. All the buckles and straps are well thought-out. I expected this, after buying two Britax car seats and a stroller.Other bike seats are rigidly mounted to the bike somehow, so even with some cushioning, they will yield a more jarring ride to the kid than this one. I'm glad I spent the extra money for this one.I'd buy this again in a second.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. My kids are older (pre-teens), but every Saturday I babysit a friends 2-year-old all day while she's at work. This past summer I picked up one of these Britax bike seats to attach to my bicycle, so I could take my friends daughter out some during the day. She would leave me her car seat, but I ended up just never going anywhere, since I didn't like the hassle of installing the car seat in and out of my car in case I needed it for just 8 hours, one day a week. There's a park just a few blocks from my house, and each weekend I take my friends daughter there to play for an hour or two. I started taking her there via this bike seat, since it was much easier than walking that far with her, and she's not very fond of strollers. She tends to get impatient in the stroller and walking that far wears her out before we even get there, let alone walking home after playing. After getting this seat set up on my bike, I wondered if she was going to be as fussy about being in it as she gets about sitting in her stroller. Thankfully, she ended up really having fun riding around in it. The first few times we went back and forth to the park she didn't say much. She seemed to be taking in the sights and trying to figure out what kind of ride she was on. But now, she loves to yell at everyone we pass, letting them know that she is bicycling and and wanting them to look at her go. As soon as she gets to my house she's asking when we're going to go on our ride, and tells her mommy all about it every day when she comes to picker her up.My husband and I had the seat set up within just a few minutes, and other than making sure it would fit the bicycle, everything went smoothly. The clamp-on system makes taking the seat on and of fairly easy, but I've found I just leave the seat on most of the time. The fabric lining is removable and can be spot cleaned or thrown in the laundry, which is handy. It arrived almost completely assembled and is built with well made materials, no flimsy cheap feeling to it. Another reviewer mentioned taking test ride first, without the child in it when you first set it up. I agree this is a really good idea. While the seat might feel secure just sitting still, you never know if something will wiggle or rub against something else, until you've taken it out on a ride. Each bicycle is a little different and for those bikes this Britax seat fits correctly, it's a great secure ride, and a lot of fun for the kids!
