The Cocorro seat is so compact, and really very sturdy. It was tricky to tighten it at first - so I took the car and seat to the fire dept. and the lovely fireman showed me how easy it was to properly tighten the seat. He also commented on how sturdy it was for such a small seat. He said there are so many people who buy really large convertible seats for small cars, thinking they are "safer" - without realizing the hazard of blocking the rear window due to the height of these seats and how difficult it is to properly install them in small cars without pushing the passenger seat all the way up front. The seat itself is really comfy for the baby - it even has a protective pad over the crotch-strap - which is really good if you have a little boy. We have a Britax Decathlon in our other car, and I love that, but this is just perfect for our Prius and at a great price point for a very safe and sturdy seat. I highly recommend this seat and, for the price, is worth every penny!

We have a Honda CRV and needed a more compact car seat than the Alpha Omega Elite that we were using for our firstborn. After installing the Cocorro with the LATCH system, I noticed the "flip toward the back" issue that other reviewers have posted about and linked to YouTube videos. I installed it instead with the seat belt per the instructions, but my husband wasn't crazy about the shoulder strap going across the car door opening. So, I began researching. According to the [..] website, "it is acceptable for the top part of the CR (child restraint) to rotate toward the rear of the vehicle or to shift from side to side, as long as the CR is attached securely near the belt path." ([..]- look in the technical section under installation tightness). As a momma, I still wasn't super thrilled about the flip tendency, though. Just didn't seem safe. Several reviews of this car seat can be found at[..]; one of the reviews references the flip "problem" and is responded to by Combi. ([..]).I called Combi and requested the Zeus Adjustment Pad they refer to, and the customer service agent advised me that they recommend a pool noodle as a better fix. I purchased one from WalMart and reinstalled the car seat using the LATCH system. Let me tell you, this car seat is now more secure than the Alpha Omega Elite EVER was. It won't budge--not side to side and only a fraction of an inch front to back!We purchased a second Coccoro to replace the Alpha Omega Elite, and now there are two car seats in the back seat: one on the passenger side (w/LATCH) and one in the middle (w/L&S belt). The middle one was a little hard to install, but with the lap/shoulder belt and two pool noodles (because of the way the CRV seat is shaped), the second Coccoro also does not budge.I wish we had gotten this car seat for our first born from the beginning, instead of the A/O Elite, but at least he's a small baby and still has at least a year or so to use the Coccoro. By the way, I'm 38 weeks pregnant--so if I can install two car seats next to each other in the back seat of a vehicle and get them secure, you know that installation isn't that difficult if you're doing it right!

I can fit this, a booster seat, and another convertible carseat in the back of my Audi A4. The demo shows how 3 of these fit well in a compact car, and I believe it. I'm buying 2 more: one to replace the bulky convertible Eddie Bauer and the other for grandpa's BMW 330. I plan on having one face rear and the other face forward with a booster in the middle. The old bulky ones will be thrown into my husband's suv. Coccoro is very comfy, well built, and so light to tote from one car to another. Doesn't damage the nice seats, and easy to clean. Meets all safety standards and on the gov't carseat safety list. Looks tiny but my 3 year old fits loves it too. Cute color choices in pink and baby blue. The blue matches my combi double stroller/carrier travel set. Love it.Follow-up 5/19.Received another seat for my husband's suv. I would deduct one star because installing the latch rear-facing was not enough. It wobbled too much so I used the should belt option. Make sure to use the blue belt clamp for a tight fit. The forward-facing is rock solid using the belt path and tether on top. I would not recommend this for trucks or suv's. It seems lost in the large/bench seats and wiggles. The bucket/contoured seats in my car allows a snug fit so I still would recommend it for sedans. I took both seats into my car with a booster and it's finally perfect.
