19 of 20 people found the following review helpful.I really like the colors of this playard I find them sort of neutral and easy to combine with whatever I want. The looks are really pretty but the price is a bit on the high end for what the Chicco Lullaby LX Playard has to offer.It took me one hour to assemble everything with no screwdrivers necessary except to install the batteries in the lullaby device and remote. I have uploaded some pictures to illustrate a few features and make it easier to see the details I'm about to describe. Please check them if you're interested in buying this playard. The time spent was more in the extra latches, velcro, and what not that takes safety a bit too far. I don't need to tie the pad to the base of the playard, it stays in place. The extra velcro, string, and latches that go through the base of the playard are just unnecessary.The playard (main frame) is very easy to put together, in fact, it comes fully assembled all I had to do was to stand it and lock it in place. The mat is a bit on the thin side, I have decided to purchase a mattress pad but haven't done it yet (not in the pictures).The bassinet has two metal rods that support the math and makes everything sturdy. Since everything is new, all the latches and straps are very tight. It took some effort to snap the buttons while adjusting the top of the fabric that helps placing the bassinet. I know for sure that it is not going anywhere.The changing table is probably my favorite part. It has a zipper on the side that keeps it in place without having to store it somewhere else. The base of the changing table has clamps, latches, and velcro to keep it in place on top of the bassinet. In my opinion, clamps are the only thing needed since this is just a changing table not a place for the baby to play. Using the clamps, velcro, and latches, turns this changing table into too much of a hassle to use. Unless the clamps break (since they are plastic), then the latches and velcro become useful. Maybe it's part of the `back up plan' ;)The toy gym is quite simple. It has velcro at the end of each arm so they can be placed under the mat corners in the bassinet. The toys are nothing special but we have others that can replace them. The arms of the gym have 3 different heights to position the toys or even hang other things that entertain your baby.It comes with a system that is placed at the corner of the playard. It has some sounds, lullabies, a light, and it also vibrates. It also includes a remote. You would need 4 AA batteries for the system, 2 AAA batteries for the remote, and a screwdriver which are not included.Since it took me an hour to put everything together, I don't find it easy to disassemble, pack it, and go. I tried and it took me 20 min just to undo everything. Maybe over time it will be easier once the tightness of being new losses up a little, but then, the tightness is what makes this playard secure. Though the extra safety items included end up making this item more expensive, this playard is nice and helpful if it is in a couple's budget.Last note: I invite you to ask questions or comment before hitting the unhelpful button. 10 of 12 people found the following review helpful.Chicco has done it again....we are very pleased with this product in a sense that you know what you are getting is high quality that is made to last! The initial assembly of the playard is quite easy and once put together the options you have with this product is awesome. Break down seems to be pretty simple as well, it has a little weight to it, but nothing that is impossible to move when transporting. It also comes with a storage bag to put the playard in when transporting or just storing away for the time being. All in all, I would definitely recommend this playard to everyone and will continue to stay with the Chicco brand! A+
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful.This Chicco Lullaby portable playard is definitely a playpen that is made in Grandma heaven. I had a playpen I got rid of a couple of years ago because it was heavy, clunky, and definitely not a multi-functional one like the Chicco. Heavy in the playpen department doesn't always equate to quality, especially if a lighter one can be just as useful. The other playpen had none of the fantastic features this one has. This one should definitely be on everyone's baby registry as it is one that will accommodate babies from the newborn to the toddler. Each piece, the bassinet, changing table, and playard have different age limitations.When you have a newborn or infant, the Chicco Lullaby makes it easy to interact with your baby because at just a tad over 40" (102 centimeters), it's quite an accomodating height. You can talk and play with your baby while he or she is on the changing station, on the toy gym, or in the bassinet. Once the baby reaches the age of three months or can roll over, I'd recommend putting the toy gym aside and only using it on the floor. The Chicco Lullaby seems to work from top to bottom as your infant moves from being a newborn to a toddler. Provided you take care, this playpen appears to be durable enough to last through several babies.We also have another playard and the portability factor is a real plus. One at each Grandma's house works for me. There was this little discussion about who gets baby, so the best thing was to have not one, but two playpens. Now there are two very happy Grandmas in this family. Back to what this playpen is all about and a few specs:DIMENSIONS:~ Weight: 33 pounds (14.94 kilograms)~ 40" x 28" x 31" (1.016m x 0.711m x 0.7874m) when open~ 10" x 14" x 32.5" (0.254m x 0.3556m x 0.8255m) when closed++ The side-stored changing table makes it easy to take care of your baby's needs. I found that certain items such as individual play gyms ended up needing padding. The Chicco Lullaby is fine.++ The mattress is washable.++ The play gym can either be used on the on the bassinet for cuddle and play time or used on the floor. I'd add a couple of blankets or other padding if you have a hardwood floor. Love the little play gym. When the baby gets older you can simply put it aside or add another play gym (there are several different kinds).++ There is a remote control Lullaby Nitelite. There is music, a night light, with some vibration (it won't vibrate the whole playpen.)++ Very stable and sturdy. The only problem is that when you set it up, it won't go through an average doorway. When you set it up you can't just roll it into another room without taking it down and setting it up again.++ It has a pushbutton fold and has a cargo bag that makes it easy to take on a trip. It moves on a set of wheels and has top and side straps that make it easy to put into a vehicle and pull out once you've reached Grandma's house or vacation destination.AGE/WEIGHT LIMITATIONS:* Bassinet: use up to 15 pounds (6.80389 kilograms)* Changing Table: use up to 25 pounds (11.3398 kilograms)* Playard: use up to 30 pounds (13.607 kilograms)There are a lot of wonderful things about the Chicco Lullaby, simply too many to list. Of course this playpen isn't for everyone and only you can decide what you want. For example, some may not want the playard (I love this feature). The playards are sold separately, but can be rather pricey. I know because I've purchased them for baby showers. As I claimed, this is a multi-function playpen that is Grandma heaven, but is most definitely one that many might want to put on their baby registry as it is not an inexpensive item. The portability is one especially nice feature for parents and it can be used for the newborn to the toddler. It's got everything you'd want from the ability to interact with a baby to a place where you can change a baby. The Chicco Lullaby is definitely is thumbs up and five stars.
