It's been so nice to have him right next to the bed for those middle of the night feedings, and I'm not ready to relegate him to his own far away bedroom, so I'm going to have to come up with another option in order to keep him nearby at night. I will likely be able to continue to use the bassinet for another 2-3 months for walks in the neighborhood (though most often we just use the regular car/stroller seat or the moby), so if you're looking to purchase the bassinet, think about what you'll use it for and it may be worth the $250+/- pricetag.
11 of 11 people found the following review helpful.I purchased this bassinet in June 2007 for my daughter who was born that month. I used it daily for about 5 months. I was sad when she grew out of it- that's how much I loved it. I had read that it wasn't good to keep an infant in a carseat all the time, because it was best if they laid flat. Therefore, I kept the bassinet in the car trunk and each trip to the grocery store or walks around the air-conditioned mall-- I would whip out the bassinet and attach it to the stroller frame (since I had also purchased the Orbit Infant System) and wheel her around while she slept, well, like a baby. In the first few months of her life she would fall asleep almost immediately upon being pushed around in this bassinet, so it allowed me to run a lot of errands and take daily walks to lose the baby weight. At home, I would also put the bassinet on the rocker and use it for her naps downstairs. I liked the option to either keep the rocker stationary, or to flip up the levers and be able to push it gently for the rocking motion.I am due in a few weeks with baby #2, so I just pulled this bassinet out of storage, washed the cover, sun shade, etc and it still looks brand new. The cover, etc are all very easy to remove and wash, and I hung everything to dry so they wouldn't shrink, and it was a cinch to put back onto the frame. I am sure that I will enjoy using this bassinet for #2 just as much as I did for #1. When I purchased this product I had intended to use it for two babies, and I am very glad that I will be doing just that.
9 of 10 people found the following review helpful. Our baby loved being in the bassinett on the stroller and she slept in it next to our bed for 5 months before she just outgrew it sadly. It is stupid and useless on the rocker as it is badly weighted. The part that docks onto the rocker is too far towards one end of the underneath of the bassinett. This means that it is not horizontal and is on a bad angle. So when docked all the blood runs to your babies head. I had to wedge a book under one side of the rocker to put baby at a safe angle. Bit stupid really. On the stroller is fantastic though!
