Besides having all the qualities of a regular bouncy chair (gentle rocking, a safe spot for baby, lightweight portability, a small footprint), this bouncer actually looks good. The colors are rich and attractive, sort of a deep wine color and a red-orange accent. The fabric is soft, the chair is nice and cozy, and you don't have to unfasten everything to pop the baby into the restraint, thanks to the design and the stretchy fabric. But the design means that gravity does a good job of holding the baby in place. There are 4 settings--fully reclined, partially reclined, more or less upright, and folded down.Actually, the flat-fold makes this the best bouncer I've seen, as it can go pretty much completely flat to store out of the way or take along on vacation or to a friend's house. I've dragged our other bouncy chair enough places and awkwardly tetrised it into my car enough times to really appreciate the flat fold.My 8-month baby loves it. She's clearly more comfy and less squirmy than in either of her other chairs, and she seems very snug and secure. When the baby outgrows the bouncy/restraint setting, you can reverse the cover and use it as a simple, elegant toddler chair. I'm really excited to have baby furniture that's both modern in design and without any loud or twee prints. Huzzah! But I have to take off one star for value. It's just so dang expensive, even for such an awesome little chair. Given its limited useful life, it's an awful lot to pay for a cloth-covered wire frame, ingenious as it is. If money were no object, I'd give it 5 stars.

My 10 month old loves it as a chair. It says once your child is crawling/sitting up on their own, you should not buckle them in. I have been buckling in my rumble/tumble boy for time in the kitchen, out on the back deck at dinner time, etc... obviously with supervision and for shorter periods. The buckle is very easy to push down and becomes a chair for an older child. My 3 year old was quick to climb on it, but of course it's not rated for 30 lbs. - it did hold her fine. It has 3 adjustable positions. None sit very high up. Overall this is a great product because your standard bouncers, babies outgrow so fast - this grows with the child a lot better. It easily folds flat for storage & travel. A great baby product!

My main reservation with the BabyBjorn was the price, but its proven to be a very nice item. Our son took to it right away. The big difference is that he sits up higher in this bouncer, which is great for his tummy. He seems to be more content sitting in it for longer periods, and sees to have fun as he does a lot more kicking and looking around. Its also nice that there are no seat belts, just the harness. Since the bouncer is lighweight, I just put my foot on the front lip before lifting him out and it stays put. It has three adjustable levels so it can be lowered for napping, but you do have to take baby out to make that adjustment. Our son always naps in his so this is an important feature. This bouncer can double as a chair. You just take the fabric cover off and flip it over. For the bouncer side, max recommended weight limit is 20lb, and for the chair its 29lb.We got the rust/red color. It looks so contemporary, is very appropriate for a boy or girl, and since we take so any photos of him in the bouncer, it makes for better photographs than a wild print. It came in one piece and took a second to flip up the base and it was ready to go. The locking function under the seat is similar to a lawn chair, and the wire frame is thick and stable. We haven't purchased a toy bar for this, but we found the clip toys seem to work well to clip to the side, as long as they are long enough to be within babys reach.Overall, the style is far better than your average bouncer, and baby seems to enjoy it more. I think if you want a bouncer where your baby can sit more upright and be more engaged, and get more out of the design and potential resale value, then the extra cost may be worth it.UPDATE: I realize now why this bouncer is superior to other bouncers and worth the price. This thing really has a nice bounce to it and my child has a ton of fun. He entertains himself more, kicking his legs like crazy and having a lot more fun bouncing in this one over his old one.
